From it's inception as a rough sketch to the drawing board and now onto CAD formats, the ability of a drafter to "visualize" what they see is paramount to the accuracy of the drawings in relation to the "real world" in which the design will be built. If the drafter can "see" by accurate 3d modeling, then the contractors and builders who actually build the design will not suffer through revision after revision of inept design done by those with no real world building experience. The BIM, projected costs, and timelines for completion will all be friendly with the bottom line of the project, thus better construction in efficacious form. WE ALL GET PAID BETTER.
