CH2M HILL Secures General Contractor License in China

DENVER, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- CH2M HILL today announced that it has been issued a general contractor's license by the Shanghai Ministry of Construction in China. This enables CH2M HILL to provide consulting, engineering, project management, construction management and fully integrated engineering, procurement and construction services. The license also positions CH2M HILL for future general building and public works facilities in China.

"This will position CH2M HILL to serve its many multi-national clients' expansion plans in the industrial marketplace to fulfill Chinese demand," said David Rosamond, Vice President, CH2M HILL. These include consumer products, automotive, food & beverages, manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics, communications, energy and other specific Chinese market needs.

As a world-recognized leader in the transportation and water markets, CH2M HILL will be positioned to offer the Chinese government engineering and construction services for its many infrastructure needs. These would include highways, bridges, tunnels, water supply, wastewater, liquid gas, municipal refuse treatment and gas supply.

In late 2002, the Chinese government issued two new decrees to be effective in 2004. By qualifying for these licenses, non-Chinese-based firms can legally perform work in China. Due to its unique position in securing this license in China, CH2M HILL has recently won major projects in automotive, metals, chemicals and heavy industrial equipment manufacturing.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, USA, employee-owned CH2M HILL is a global firm providing consulting, engineering, construction, operations, and related technical services to private and public clients. With more than $3.5 billion in revenue, CH2M HILL is an industry leading program management, construction management-for-fee and design firm, as ranked by Engineering News-Record in 2005. The firm's work is concentrated in the areas of chemicals, environment, manufacturing, transportation, water, power, energy communications, pharmaceutical/biotechnology and electronics. CH2M HILL has more than 15,000 employees in regional offices worldwide.
