NEEDHAM, MA – May 20, 2009 – PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the Product Development Company®, today announced their launch of an online resource designed specifically for the Small and Medium (SMB) market place. The new site is designed to provide resources on all aspects of product development to both existing and potential PTC customers, giving access to the latest articles, analyst reports and presentations aimed at how product development can contribute to profitability.

The website offers three clear sections:

Business Performance: a gateway to the PTC product development story, featuring the latest articles and reports including white papers, feature articles and webcasts on key business initiatives relevant for small and medium sized companies. Topics include design reuse, reduction of production scrap and rework, virtual prototyping, and more.

Exploring 3D Design: dedicated to the topic of 3D design and featuring a variety of informative papers and multimedia devices. This section covers topics such as “how to cope with the high amount of design changes in an efficient way” or “what to consider when migrating from 2D to 3D”. Also featured are stories written by fellow engineers, promoting best practice for a number of design tasks.

Existing Pro/ENGINEER users: an area for existing users of Pro/ENGINEER, providing information on available modules, software updates and much more.

“I can click onto the site and pick up information on features that will make my designing life easier and my work flow more efficient”, says Ivan Robinson, Commercial Engineer at Thermex Ltd. “The site enables me to access reports and feedback from other users highlighting the different ways Pro/ENGINEER is used and encourages me to look at modeling and manufacturing parts in a different ways.

“The multimedia demonstrations are great,” continues Robinson. “You can utilise interesting topics which demonstrate the capabilities of the software in a way that makes it easy to understand its power and how it can integrate within most manufacturing processes, whether you’re an engineer or an accountant. Suffice to say, it’s on my browser bookmark list!”

The Resource Center provides features links to a number of external PTC-related forums and communities allowing the users to quickly access these and benefit from the large number of networking platforms dedicated to Pro/ENGINEER and the PTC products. The content of the entire SMB Resource Center on ptc.com is available free of charge.

“Companies are looking more at how they can operate more efficiently, reduce costs and improve productivity,” comments Richard Allan, PTC’s Channel Business Development Director. “The website is a comprehensive online resource that brings together information not just from PTC but also from current end-users all focused on 3D design and remaining competitive through product development.”
