N. QUINCY and BROCKTON, MA, ISSUED JUNE 24, 2019… JACA Architects ( www.jacaarchitects.com), one of New England’s premier healthcare-exclusive architectural firms, recently announced its selection by Signature Healthcare to design a new Brockton Hospital School of Nursing.
The current building that houses the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing dates back to 1897; the original, 122-year-old building has no further capacity for growth or expansion. The new school, which will be built on Adams Street (across from the School of Nursing parking lot and close to the location of the current school), will include key improvements identified by students and faculty, such as a state-of-the-art simulation program, a modern Student Success Center, and improved wireless technology and learning access. Special attention will be placed on preserving the legacy of the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and honoring those who have made it possible.
“We are honored to work on this exciting project, especially given that the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing is one of the few remaining schools of nursing located at a hospital,” said Bill Epp, president of JACA Architects. “We look forward to building on this 122-year-tradition while offering a cutting edge, state-of-the-art facility to augment students’ learning and professors’ ability to communicate and instruct.”
