Carahsoft to Offer NVIDIA GPU Technology

RESTON, Va., Aug. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider™, today announced that it plans to make NVIDIA® programmable graphics processing units (GPUs) and related technologies available to the public sector through Carahsoft’s NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) Contract.

GPU-powered deep learning and AI-first approaches are critical to every federal agency, improving cyber defense and healthcare, and reducing waste and fraud among other applications.  By building a platform for AI, NVIDIA GPUs give everyone from the military to analysts the ability to convert large amounts of data into actionable information and the power necessary to complete the mission better with more data-informed decision making--all while reducing costs.

In addition, government agencies are turning to virtualization to deliver this data to remote employees in the field.  NVIDIA virtual GPU solutions enable government agencies to implement VDI with a high-quality experience while increasing data security and improving IT efficiencies.

“Many of our government customers, technology vendors, integrators and reseller partners are already leveraging NVIDIA’s technology, applying the power of the GPU for everything from supercomputing, virtual reality, and autonomous machines, to artificial intelligence and deep learning,” said Craig P. Abod, Carahsoft president. “Our customers are sure to benefit from the latest technical advances and cloud accessibility that NVIDIA solutions provide.”

NVIDIA technology is complementary to numerous technologies already available through Carahsoft, including virtualization, artificial intelligence, simulation, analysis, virtual reality, training, cloud, cyber, healthcare and GIS. Through this agreement, Carahsoft will offer the following NVIDIA virtualization, AI and deep learning solutions:

  • NVIDIA virtual GPU (vGPU) Software
â—‹  NVIDIA Quadro® Virtual Data Center Workstation (Quadro vDWS)
â—‹  NVIDIA GRID™ Virtual PC (vPC) and Virtual Apps (vApps)
  • NVIDIA DGX™ Systems
    â—‹  DGX Station
    â—‹  DGX-1
    â—‹  DGX-2
  • NVIDIA Tesla® GPUs

“Carahsoft has deep experience and a proven track record delivering cutting-edge technologies including big data, machine learning and AI to the federal government,” said Anthony Robbins, Vice President of North America Public Sector at NVIDIA. “Their customers will benefit from the combination of Carahsoft’s expertise and NVIDIA-powered solutions for virtualization and deep learning.”
