The Océ ColorWave® 700 large format printing system is ideal for reprographers and in-plant shops that want to offer new large format services, including posters, pop-up banners, wallpaper, and more – all the while handling CAD and GIS documents with ease. According to Marco Boer at IT Strategies, Inc., a digital printer market research and consultancy, “The ColorWave 700's paper path enables it to print on a broad range of heavier, inexpensive (since no pre-treatment is required) substrates as well as vinyl and canvas. This capability extends the ColorWave technology's application reach into short-term use point-of-purchase signage, leveraging the ColorWave's vibrant color output."

The Océ ColorWave 700 system is versatile in its ability to output a wide array of color applications. Organizations can expand their services cost-effectively with Océ MediaSense technology, providing the ability to print on thicker media (up to 32mil) and enabling production of color posters, pop-up banners, disposable point-of-sale, wallpaper, canvas and many other applications – all with one device. The system prints up to 640 posters or 1800 A1/D-size CAD drawings per working day, and with the flexibility to print on low-cost uncoated media or high-end specialties with the same high-quality to meet customer demands.

Print service providers, reprographers, retailers and in-plant printers can use the Océ ColorWave 700 system to consolidate their large format graphics and technical applications printing into a single easy-to-use system. With up to six different rolls of media that can be loaded simultaneously, the printer is able to handle many different jobs uninterrupted, without having to load and unload rolls in-between. And with optional Take-Up Module, users can easily choose between roll-to-finished sheet or roll-to-roll printing. This means it can replace multiple color inkjet printing systems and improve efficiency.

“Canon’s Océ large format printers are designed to be highly productive and user friendly,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Color and black & white are converging in our world and we are meeting that market demand once again by expanding our core large format capabilities to help our customers become more competitive. The Océ ColorWave 700 offers a unique combination of graphics application versatility, high speed, productive printing and operational simplicity to meet the rapidly changing needs of a variety of retailers, in-plant and professional print providers.”

Saves valuable time

There is no need to waste time training users on a complicated system thanks to the Océ ClearConnect multi-touch user panel. It works like a tablet so there is minimal learning curve and workflow is flexible based on your particular needs. Print from a desktop via Océ Publisher Select™ software to manage complex document sets. The embedded Adobe® PDF Print Engine (APPE) helps with a predictable end-to-end Adobe workflow, with all elements - create, manage, print - sharing the same common core technologies. And optional ONYX Thrive™ software provides pre-flighting and advanced color management tools to produce outstanding color results and high productivity.

This system is engineered for reliable, unattended production. No daily maintenance is required to maximize production. It runs unattended with no need to check or babysit jobs. Prints come out as sheets ready to finish or ship. No trimming, drying or curing time is required and the printer can print mixed sets in one go, without having to trim or manually collate sets.

The Océ patented Océ CrystalPoint® technology produces robust, waterfast prints with sharp lines, high readability of fine details and smooth, even area fills. The high-quality prints, which are consistent over time and on different machines, have a unique silk-shine look and feel, independent of the type of media you use.
