Orbit Logic to provide Collection Planning Software for USAF Eagle Vision

GREENBELT, MD, (December 3rd, 2012) – Orbit Logic announced today that it will deliver collection planning software for United States Air Force Eagle Vision mobile ground stations.  Orbit Logic has received initial task orders from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) in Canada for two licenses of its collection planning software.  The software will be configured by Orbit Logic to support imagery collection planning for DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-1 and WorldView-2 high resolution commercial imaging satellites and will be integrated by MDA engineers into systems being delivered to the Air Force early in 2013.  Additional software license purchases are expected for the remaining Eagle Vision ground stations after the initial two deployments.

Proven over several years of commercial imaging satellite operations, Orbit Logic’s collection planning software performs high fidelity satellite modeling and imagery collection planning, as well as contact scheduling, order tracking, recorder management and downlink planning.  Orbit Logic’s planning software solution for Eagle Vision includes planning maps, animation and visualization in Systems Tool Kit (STK) from Analytical Graphics to enhance operator situational awareness.

Eagle Vision is a family of deployable, commercial satellite ground stations that downlink unclassified commercial imagery data from Earth-orbiting satellites. The system is operated by four Air National Guard units and one active-duty unit, and has provided planning and mission support to combat operations since 1994, including most recently Operations Allied Force, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom as well as disaster relief support during Hurricane Katrina and the Pacific Tsunami in 2005.
