Microdesk “Go Vertical” Tour Offers Free Seminars on
The Benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Waltham, Mass. (October 26, 2006) – Microdesk, Inc. is offering a free seminar on the benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in designated cities with its Go Vertical Tour. The industry’s leading technology consultant and Autodesk reseller will be making stops in Connecticut and Pennsylvania in November, with more destinations to be scheduled. The first seminar will be held at The Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, CT on November 14. The Go Vertical Tour will then move to the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA on November 16. The seminars run from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Building Information Modeling is the creation and use of coordinated, consistent, computable information about a building project in design—information used for design decision making, production of high-quality construction documents, predicting performance, cost-estimating and construction planning, and, eventually, for managing and operating the facility.

Microdesk’s free BIM seminar will show Architects, Engineers, Structural Engineers, and Owners/Operators how BIM can help them work together from the same set of drawings with ease, save time and money, and coordinate entire projects effortlessly. BIM can also help professionals spend less time updating documents and correcting errors and more time working on aesthetics. Attendees will learn how BIM can help them put drawings together with confidence, minimize costly mistakes, exceed client expectations, and discover new sources of revenue.

Among the many topics to be covered will be: what exactly is BIM and how is it affecting the work you do; what applications are considered BIM tools and why; how does BIM relate to Autodesk; BIM—what’s in it for you; who can benefit from BIM; why your clients are requesting BIM; things to consider before you move to a BIM Solution; how to implement BIM; what else can you do with BIM and third-party applications; a BIM future—where is the technology taking us; getting ahead of the BIM curve.

All attendees will receive a free Microdesk duffle bag and will also be eligible to win iPod shuffles, USB Flash Drives, or a Sirius Radio Home and Car Units with Cash Cards. People may register by calling 800.336.3375, emailing Email Contact, or visiting www.microdesk.com/govertical.
