VE-Gaia will be released in June 2009, but visitors to IES’ booth at AIA (#1241) can witness a sneak preview of the product as well as regular demonstrations throughout the show. A step up from the IES VE-Toolkits, VE-Gaia offers the same ease of use and quick feedback capabilities, but also provides users the ability to input exact building data and manipulate models.
Dr. Don Mclean, founder and CEO of IES, commented, “I see VE-Gaia revolutionising the way that building simulation is performed. Design firms will be able to open up sustainable design analysis to a wider range of users as you need significantly less familiarity with the VE software. Users can easily mark progress, control quality and iterate workflows. Environmental analysis feedback is a key driver for sustainable design.”
Key navigator capabilities within VE-Gaia will include; climate, building and material metrics; availability of natural resources; water usage; renewable/low carbon technologies, as well as a range of LEED credit options.
