MUSE Technologies to Operate as Advanced Visual Systems
January 31 MUSE Technologies, Inc., developer of advanced visualization and perceptual computing software, announced that it will immediately begin doing business as Advanced Visual Systems (AVS). The name change follows the November 2000 merger of MUSE and AVS, now believed to be one the largest companies focused on data visualization software and solutions, with 15 international offices serving over 2,000 customers and 12,000 licensed end-users.
According to Russell G. Barbour, CEO of MUSE Technologies, "Our selection of Advanced Visual Systems as the name to represent the combined operations of MUSE and AVS is based upon a decade of AVS brand equity in a number of important market sectors. As our business grows to include new areas of opportunity for our data visualization technologies, we believe that we can efficiently leverage our success with the established AVS brand and reputation.''
AVS has unveiled a new Web site at www.avs.com and refreshed its corporate identity with a new logo and graphic styling that can be viewed at the site.
Other MUSE subsidiaries, which include MUSE Virtual Presence, MUSE Simulation Solutions and MUSEVRsource.com, will continue to operate under their unique identities for similar reasons of established recognition and brand equity.
