TradePower Acquires Trade Service Systems to Enhance E-business Solutions for Construction Industry
February 6 TradePower, the leading e-business solutions provider for the construction industry, announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Trade Service Systems, a market-leading provider of total business systems for the wholesale distribution industry. With this acquisition, TradePower is positioned to provide extensive e-business services to the 140 billion dollar U.S. electrical and mechanical marketplace. TradePower acquired Trade Service Systems from Trade Service Holdings, a privately-held company, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition of Trade Service Systems is contingent upon pending undisclosed terms. Trade Service Systems will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of TradePower.
The combined acquisitions of Trade Service Systems and Estimation, a leading provider of contractor solutions acquired last year by TradePower, forms the foundation to provide fully-integrated, end-to-end solutions to the construction industry by connecting contractor's estimating and procurement processes directly to the business systems of their suppliers. This direct connection allows for the exchange of real-time data between the buyers and sellers of commercial and industrial materials through TradePower's digital marketplace, resulting in business efficiencies for contractors and suppliers that impact the bottom line. The tools and resources developed by TradePower, integrated with the powerful software solutions provided by Trade Service Systems and Estimation, will dramatically improve the inefficiencies inherent in the construction industry procurement process.
There once were many of these "e-business solutions" for the construction industry. There are not many left. Of those that remain, the e-procurement solutions are perhaps the most vulnerable. The acquisition of Estimation may provide TradePower with an edge.
